LCSD School Sports Programme : Jockey Club Sevens School Tour
17.Apr.2026

Our school was privileged to be invited to participate in the "School Sports Programme Jockey Club Sevens School Tour," an esteemed initiative organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Accompanied by our Physical Education teachers, 23 student committee members from the Sports Association visited the landmark Kai Tak Sports Park to spectate the exhilarating matches. This invaluable experiential learning opportunity outside the classroom left a profound impression on our student leaders, who gained deep insights into sportsmanship, event management, and personal growth.

4D LEE HOI CHING:
During our visit to the Kai Tak Sports Park today, I was initially inside the venue impressed by the staff members, whose articulate and detailed introduction to rugby underscored the importance of prioritizing the audience's comprehension when planning future events. Furthermore, watching the live matches at such close proximity allowed the theoretical sports knowledge I previously possessed to unfold vividly before my eyes, giving me a solid grasp of how complex tactics and rules are executed in real time. Crucially, learning the forward-pass infraction corrected my long-standing misconception that players could pass the ball in any direction, thereby deepening my technical understanding of rugby.

3A YIP HOI CHING:
The experience commenced with an illuminating session led by a coach who broke down the fundamental rules of rugby so clearly that even a beginner like myself could thoroughly enjoy the game. As the matches concluded, witnessing the opposing teams exchange handshakes deeply impressed upon me that true sportsmanship always triumphs over sheer rivalry. What inspired me most, however, was the indomitable spirit displayed by the players; even when defeat seemed inevitable, they refused to capitulate and fought until the final second, leaving me with a profound lesson on the virtue of perseverance.

2B HUI HOI LEE:
The matches seamlessly demonstrated how players leverage synchronized teamwork, alongside advanced evasive maneuvers and tactical skills, to protect the ball from being intercepted by their opponents. Observing this flawless coordination made me realize the indispensable nature of collaboration in achieving success. Additionally, the insightful commentary provided by the staff greatly enriched my sports literacy, while the athletes' peak physical conditioning—a testament to their rigorous training—has motivated me to consistently strive for excellence and maintain a resilient attitude in my own pursuits.

3C NGAI TSZ YIU:
Soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, where passionate spectators in eccentric costumes cheered fervently for their teams, offered me a far more visceral and immersive understanding of rugby than any broadcast video could ever provide. Beyond the game itself, observing the venue’s efficient crowd control and spatial utilisation was highly educational; it made me realise how individual errors could ripple into operational delays, a revelation that holds immense practical value for my future endeavours in event organisation and time management.

4B CHAN TSZ YAU:
What captivated me most during this excursion to the Kai Tak Sports Park was the lightning-fast transitions between offence and defense, which highlighted how crucial mutual understanding and chemistry are to a team's defence against strategic breakthroughs. Equally notable was the referee's decisive officiating; by swiftly intervening during dangerous tackles, the referee effectively safeguarded the players from potential injuries. Finally, observing how the athletes responded to their own mistakes with mutual encouragement and instantaneous tactical adjustments taught me a valuable lesson in maintaining positive communication and managing emotions constructively when encountering setbacks.
